Are you planning on attending Evo 2024? We are excited to have you join us to celebrate the FGC on July 19-21. Here’s a quick checklist of things to take care of beforehand to maximize your experience with us this summer.

How to Register

Be sure to validate your start.gg account before purchasing your Event Badge. Completing this step will ensure you receive the purchase confirmation upon completing registration. Once your account is validated, head over to start.gg to register for Evo 2024. If you purchased an Event Badge already and didn’t receive a confirmation email, don’t worry! A valid ID is all you will need to pick up your pass at the event. Whether you want to compete, spectate, or just enjoy everything we have to experience at the event, there is only one kind of badge available, and the main differentiator is the number of days your badge gives you access to.

If you want to compete at Evo 2024, a 3-day Event Badge is required. You must select a game from the "Configure Pass" section to be entered into its tournament. If you are not competing in any Evo 2024 tournaments, continue to the next section without selecting a game.

Single-day badges only include access for the listed day and do not allow you to compete in tournaments. If you are attending for all three days, please select the 3-Day Event Badge.

All Event Badges provide entry to Evo 2024. Each badge includes access to the show floor and all event activities, including first-come, first-served general admission access to the Arena Finals Experience.

As a reminder, there are NO REFUNDS on Event Badge purchases, so please direct any questions to support@evo.gg before registering.

How to Compete in the Cosplay Contest

Attention cosplayers! The Evo Cosplay Contest returns! For competitors' convenience, the Contest will take place near the photo op areas on the show floor.

This year, there will be a pre-judging phase that will allow contestants to submit their cosplays through a form in advance of Evo 2024. This form lets you share photos of your costume and describe your creation process so you can enter the contest without having to go to the Cosplay Contest area during the judging phase on Day 1 or Day 2. Stay tuned for more information and a link to the pre-judging form to come!

We are excited to announce two returning judges for this year’s cosplay contest. Welcome back @VampyBitMe – Linda Le and @Kaori_Kaotan - Kaori Horiuchi! We have a third judge who will be announced soon!

During the Cosplay Contest, our three judges will invite six finalists out of all the participants to compete on our cosplay stage. Finalists will be interviewed and have an opportunity to showcase their cosplay. Final rankings will be determined after the presentations have concluded.

RULES AND IMPORTANT NOTICES:

  • Characters must appear in a fighting game to be eligible for competition. If your character appears in but does not originate from a fighting game, please wear the version of their costume as it appears within a fighting game. Cosplayers must be wearing their cosplay to be judged and qualify as a Finalist.
  • Be prepared to show a reference image of the character you are cosplaying to the judges. If your character does not originate from a fighting game, please make sure your reference image shows the version of them that appears in a fighting game. Progress photos are also highly encouraged!
  • Costumes will be judged individually (no groups).
  • Handmade costumes are highly preferred, but there is no specific percentage of the costume that must be handmade to be eligible for competition.
  • Masks for health and safety, mobility aids, and cosplay handlers/assistants are all permitted and will not affect judging.
  • Cosplay is NOT consent. Cosplay is not an invitation to sexualize, ridicule, or degrade others. Please be respectful and ask for photo permission. Be kind.
  • Cosplay is about creativity and passion. We encourage everyone to cosplay whichever fighting game characters they wish, regardless of size, gender, age, religion, or ethnic background. We simply ask that you follow the event guidelines and please keep in mind that Evo 2024 is a family-friendly event.
  • Costumes worn on the convention floor must not obstruct or impede the flow of traffic or entryways. If the costume cannot fit through a standard doorway, it may not be allowed during general convention hours.

PRIZING:

Winner (1) of the Evo 2024 Cosplay Contest will be awarded flight and hotel for a future international Evo event (details to be announced later).
The top 6 contestants will receive Evo medals.
